Batch Rename
Available for: Multiple Files

Batch Rename lets you apply the same type of name-change to a number of selected files, such as changing their case or their extensions, replacing matching text in their names, or adding prefixes and suffixes. The same changes are applied to all files selected. When you apply the changes, Batch Rename watches for 'collisions' - two files that would have the same name, causing one to be replaced by the second - and stops the operation.

To start Batch Rename, select two or more files (not folders), right-click any selected file, and choose Batch Rename from the ShellToys XP menu. Choose the options you want from the dialog that appears.

The Remove File button allows you to remove any selected file from the list, excluding it from the renaming operation.

Click the Rename button to apply the changes and exit, or Cancel to exit without applying the changes.
